| Hometown: Victor, MT Education: BA Music Education, University of Montana, 1957; MA, University of Iowa, 1979 Teaching experience: Taught music and was the band director at several schools in Idaho and Oregon from 1957 – 1979. In 1979 he accepted the position of band director at West Albany High School in Albany, Oregon, where he remained until his retirement in 1994. Since then he has taught trumpet privately. He became director of the Corvallis New Horizons Band when it was formed in January, 2004. Performing Experience: Accomplished trumpet player performing in various community bands, orchestras, and brass ensembles. | The director for our summer session is Ed Propst. Ed is a recent grad school alumni from Oregon State University, and he did his bachelor work at St. Olaf College. He Graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 1998 and before that he grew up in Anchorage Alaska. Ed has been a singer, dancer, actor, poet, and multi instrumental musician since he can remember. Currently he is the director of bands for Central School District. He also plays trombone and keys in the band Sar Shalom, as well as lead vocals and guitar in Kaddy Wampus. - Rita Mallone |
